Future of W Seattle market

I’ve been watching West Seattle news pretty closely, especially since the bridge closure. I see an opportunity there, both for buyers wanting to get into the market, and for the community to evolve. For example, there could be a shift towards public transit as the primary gateway, and more local shopping and dining options.

The bridge may be too far damaged to repair. That means that other solutions need to be found, at a time when there is no budget for planning OR building, and it won’t be quick. In an earlier blog post I talked about my hope of SoundTransit playing a bigger role. With plans already in place, maybe it will get pushed up in the schedule? Or their plans expanded? Last October, I posted on Facebook about how the Roosevelt neighborhood embraced the arrival of a station. Maybe we will see something akin in West Seattle. You can read the article I referenced in that post by following this link.  Roosevelt Station
